On 21 -25th of May 2019 Dr. Lawrence Henesey, Asst. Professor of Computer Science from the Blekinge Institute of Technology (Project Partner 4) was promoting the C2SP project and gave a presentation, which introduced its concept. He briefly described how European Union financed project supporting development of South Baltic small and medium-sized seaports to improve cargo flow, environmental and economic efficiencies, and competitiveness by improving IT infrastructure capacity such as the distribution of digital technologies with focus on the IoT (Internet of Things)and Blockchain technology.
PORTCON is a bi-annual conference and expo attended by managers from port authorities, marine terminal operators and other related supply chain professionals. The gathering was created to consolidate a number of initiatives developed over the past ten years with a goal to improve the competitiveness of seaport operations.
Various companies were interested in the CONNECT2SMALLPORTS project and willing to participate in upcoming pilot projects.
