The scientific conference HMS will be held as virtual event on 16th – 18th of September 2020. The conference concentrates on applications of simulation and computer technologies, supply chain management, multimodal transportation, maritime environment and industrial logistics.
Connect2SmallPorts project is sponsoring a session / track on “Digitalization in Ports” with Prof. Dr. Lawrence Henesey from project Partner BTH chairing it. The session deals with questions on how to develop and operate automated or autonomous systems that can be applied to logistics systems with the emergence of new technology paradigms, such as cloud computing, Big Data, A.I. (Artificial Intelligence), Machine Learning and IoT (Internet of Things).
In addition, a team of the project consortium submitted a research paper for the conference dealing with a simulation of an efficient vessel loading process. The research was supported by project results and insights of Connect2SmallPorts.
