SUMMARY:12th International Scientific Conference "Transbaltica 2021: Transportation Science and Technology"
DESCRIPTION:International scientific conference “Transbaltica” is a continuing traditional event of the Faculty of Transport Engineering in VILNIUS TECH and is organized in cooperation with partners since 2001 every two years. \nThe conference is dedicated to scientific presentations as well as scientific discussions in work groups. \nOne of the major objectives of the conference is to create favorable conditions for the research\, carried out by the scientists\, development and to find solutions to transport system problems; moreover\, to strengthen the relations with international scientists is of the major importance. \nThe relevant problems of the transport system are analyzed and the scientific research findings are presented during the international conference. \nWhat is more\, the scientific experience between the EU and others countries are exchanged in such areas: \n\nroads transport engineering;\nrailway transport engineering;\ntransport technological equipment engineering;\ntransport management and logistics;\nsafety systems modeling;\ntraffic safety;\nprogressive transport systems and services;\ntransport globalization and internationalization;\ntransport policy and strategies.\n\nThe conference attracts scientists from all countries.

DESCRIPTION:The annual International Port Technology Hackathon – “Portathon 2021” is once again co-organised by Connect2SmallPorts Project. The event joins teams from businesses\, start-ups and innovators from Europe together. This year\, the Portathon will be held as hybrid event with physical locations in Klaipeda\, Wismar and Karlskrona connected on a virtual platform.  \nThe event proposes real challenges from partner ports such as Klaipeda and Hamburg. More ports are developing their challenges and will announce them soon. Follow this link to find out more on published challenges. \nIn general\, the topics covered by the challenges are: \n\nDigitalisation in Logistics\nAutomated Port Equipment\nDigital Port Terminals\nSmart Transport Ecosystems\nMaritime Cyber Security\n\nWe kindly invite you to register your team between 3 and 5 persons. However\, if you don’t have a team yet\, just register and the organizers will connect you to other participants with same interests. The event is completely free of any charge\, if you have traveling costs to the physical events\, these might be covered\, just contact the organizers. \nBy the way\, the event offers a prize pool of 4.000 EUR shared between the best team ideas.
